If my Dad (JD) were here today to give advice, it would probably be in the form of a story. He loved to intertwine stories about a “good old boy” he once knew or perhaps that of a character from an old western movie he may have watched countless times throughout his life, when he gave advice. It was gentle, but it always seemed to be what I needed to hear, and precisely when I needed to hear it. Gosh, I miss my Dad.
Dad is gone now and since he can’t give us advice, I’ll try to stand in for him. I could never be like my Dad, but here goes.
Advice to live by:
Date that person, don’t be afraid to follow your heart.
Exercise or be active, as much as you can, often.
Take that course or finish that degree. Educate yourself
Buy that plane ticket, travel and experience the world.
Learn to dance, it is the language of love.
Be happy. I’ll say it again. BE HAPPY!!!!!
Move to the big city.
Be patient and kind.
Celebrate life and the people in yours.
Set goals and try to accomplish them.
Vote as if your life and happiness depends on it. They Just Might…
Love yourself and find some else to love as well.
and finally,
Be humble.
If you have a Dad, or anyone else in your life willing to give you any parental advice, please TAKE IT.
I promise you; it is likely that they have a little more insight into what true happiness is and what it takes to find and keep it. Do yourself a little favor, listen to them and try to heed their advice. I’m certainly NOT as wise as my Dad, but I did listen a little and feel fortunate that he gave me some very good advice.
Peace and happiness to you. I hope to share with you again soon. LIKE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE, please.
