Hello Ya’ll. It’s a new day. Day 2 of this portion of my life journey. I want to share a little more about myself with you. Yes, I am from the South, specifically, the Southern region of the United States. I consider myself a “Southerner”. I have lived here for almost my entire life. My home is situated a short drive from the borders of the states of Georgia and Florida. I live in a small community, made up of farmers and industry with military families making up the balance. Our community is considered a bedroom community for several other large cities in the region. I am a professional with decades of service to the community. I am a Troy University alum with an undergraduate and graduate degree from that fine institution. I am single. More on that later. I am a foodie, I love to travel, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my friends and family, and I absolutely enjoy spending time outdoors in the garden. I am a workaholic and a recovering people pleaser. We all suffer from this from time to time. My life challenges over the past few years have been few but have been significant. The loss of a parent, loss of a partner, a major health scare, and the ever-present undercurrent of Erik Erikson’s final two life stages all lend some chaos to my overall experience. Oh, and let us not forget about the COVID thing. As far as my blessings and all the good things that are a part of my life, there are many. I have a particularly good career. My family and friends love me as do I them. I am healthy after having lived through that health scare. I have happy memories of the parent I lost as well as my partner who also passed. I enjoy doing exciting things and often travel for work and pleasure. I collect memories. I guess you might say I am working my bucket list. Experiencing profound loss and great adversity and then learning to cope with all that has a way of changing a person. I’m certain some of my readers can understand this. You and I are more alike than we might be aware. You are my TRIBE. Let’s do life together. Please forgive the lengthy post, but I thought I needed to give you a little insight into who I am. More to come. See you soon.
